The history of the building that houses the hotel is not well known, but it seems that it was originally a private villa built in the 19th century. The villa was then converted into a hotel in the 20th century, and underwent several renovations and expansions over the years. The hotel was formerly known as Meliá Villa Capri Hotel & Spa, but changed its name to Villa Blu Capri Hotel in 2021. The hotel is now part of the Italian hotel chain “Idea Hotel”.
